JOHN POLCE - "The Call" (1976 US Xian Folk - His Masterpiece)

First album of the 'John Polce' trilogy and his masterpiece.
Xian Folk at its best.

"The Call" is one of the Top 5 best albums I've run accross in 2009.
Except for the short opening track, I think it's as good as Bob Desper."

CHARLIE LOCHNER - "Winter in My Life" (1976 US Private Folk Psych)

From a music blog review :
“This is a very pretty, very obscure (it’s not even mentioned in the Lysergia/Acid Archives book) folk album from a songwriter who lived in Cheshire, Connecticut.
It was released in 1976, and definitely leans towards the downer/loner side of folk music.
Lochner has quite a unique approach to writing and recording music.
His singing is most-closely aligned with British singers: a higher-register voice with nice vibrato.
His guitar playing is very, very minimal."

A still unknown little gem in my opinion.
I can send some mp3s by email for those who could be interested !

Nancy Lou Johnson & Blake Barker - "In the Pines" (1978 US private press LP)

Rare private rural hippie folk with some acoustic folk-psych auras by very obscure SSW duo!
On the tiny Tree Frog label from Kentucky.
Features Johnson’s beautiful, pure delicate vocals and multi-instrumentalist Barker, backed by Sam Bush (strings) and Bob French (bass) on some tracks .
Self-produced, mostly original tunes, with dulcimer, flute, mouth bow (sounds electrified!), dobro, mandolin, harmonica. (from popsike)
