REP BOYETT - "This Old House (More Than Just These Memories)" (1975 US Privately pressed Folk LP)

One of my latest discoveries ... and a really solid LP throughout !

Listen to this only song I found on YouTube :

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cXQldqJq7XE

Very rare. Amazing dreamy recording with a mix of folk/country rock with dreamy rural psych touches.
A true jem that is hardly known. One day this will fetch way more money as more folks give it a listen. (recent review by eBay seller)

MIKE HAY - "Mike Makes Hay with His Magic SUN~g~shine" (197? US Xian Loner Folk - Privately pressed LP)

Some really nice Xian loner folk with mesmerizing chord progressions that could almost classify this as "acid folk".
If you dig loner Christian vibes like David Bixby and Jon Polce this is RIGHT up your alley !
(review written by Alex on RYM)

From the back cover: "Tragically, the dreams have evanesced. Victim of an automobile accident in 1973, Mike gallantly bears the cross of paralysis."

CURTIS BROTHERS - "Memories" (1975 US privately pressed little gem)

Lovely and still mostly unknown private press LP by this California-based duo, with a vibe somewhere between the bittersweet folk-rock sound of late 1960's Donovan, Smokey & His Sister etc. and early 1970's DIY singer-songwriter.
Brother Randy Curtis, who sang lead and wrote all the songs, died of cancer before the album's release and this was privately funded by friends and family in his memory.
The songs have a yearning innocence and undeniable sadness about them, aided by Curtis' gentle, melancholy vocal delivery. There's also an endearing, claustrophobic bed-sitter quality common to a lot of private press albums of the period -- and weirdly enough, a few tracks call to mind the simple ballads and love songs on Roky Erickson's solo records.
Definitely grows on you with each listen, and still off the radar screen for 1970's private press albums.
