Arguedene - Arguedene Chante ! (Very rare 1981 Private Folk LP from Belgium)

 

Arguedene was a very interesting and original project around Pierre-Marie Mulquin.

Recorded in 1981 on Pierre-Marie Mulquin's own Studio Marie-Thérèse.

This obscure album offers pleasant traditional folk/rock with entirely self-penned material. Linked by sound effects, the songs have a mediaeval edge and some interesting arrangement touches. Side one is dominated by the slightly unusual male vocalist. Side two, which has mainly female vocals, is vastly superior and contains some truly beautiful moments.

Unfortunately I don't find any track available on YouTube.

Complete with four A4 stapled pages including lyrics in both walloon and french.

A very interesting rarity which sheds particular light on the originality of the Walloon scene in the early 80s !

Mithras - Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed (Rare 1973 Private UK Folk LP)

 

Great UK Folk LP released in 1973 by Mithras,a British Folk trio (Bob Plews : Voice & Guitar, Margaret Lonhurst : Voice & Concertina & Jeremy Eddon : Voice, Recorder and Flute)
This was a self-released recording, mostly at the Old Sun, Nether Heyford village and civil parish in West Northamptonshire, England.
500 copies were produced for sale around the folk clubs.
