Warren Winter's Band - As I Was (Rare 1984 US Private Biker Folk)

Rare and excellent Biker Psych Folk LP (Justen O'Brien meets Circuit Rider) privately released in 1984 on Shovster Records.

Under the pseudonym of Warren Winters, Edward Winterhalder formed the Warren Winter's Band in the 1980s after fronting the Connecticut Dust Band during the late 1970s and early 1980s. Playing guitar and singing lead vocals, he utilized a group of studio musicians and his childhood friend Kurt Newman (drums) to record the 'As I Was' debut album in 1984 on the Shovster Records label. In 1988, the 'Crossbar Hotel' album was recorded at Grace Recording Studios in Connecticut with Warren Winters (guitar & lead vocals), Andy Rutman (guitar), Kurt Newman (drums), Lou Sabetta (keyboards) and Mario Figueroa (bass). On both albums, the song writing credits noted that all songs were written by Edward Winterhalder.

All three albums - the 2 Warren Winter's Band LPs and the Connecticut Dust Band - are little jewels !

The Three of Us - ST (1972 US Private Folk LP on Artist's Records)

We don't know much about this seminal band hailing from Ohio ... A trio composed with a female lead singer also playing piano and two guys playing guitar and keyboards. As the track listing would suggest, their sole LP offers only covers I would say performed by what could have been the best cover band of all times. I'm not sure if this whole stuff can be described as psychedelic, but this is wholeheartedly recommended. (Reviewed by Ghislain on rateyourmusic)

Roy Weard and Last Post - Fallout (Superb UK Private pressing Acid Rock LP from 1981)

Superb UK private pressing LP from 1981, Acid rock band, post DOGWATCH, they supported Hawkwind and played some festivals, the album was only sold at gigs and is very hard to come by.

A fantastic album from 1981. A strange, atmospheric, haunting hard rock with great guitar playing by Steve Bensusan and haunting vocals by Roy Weard with great back vocals by bassist Ronnie Raymond and Steve Bensusan. The line-up is completed by Paul Watson on keyboards, Dave Owen on guitar and flute, Mel Evans on drums and with the help of John Trelawney on trumpet. Roy Weard is still a fantastic showman you can see on the net with the legendary Wooden Lion. This recording is like a more soft and progressive Blue Oyster Cult but the melodic guitar soli are as good as Buck Dharma's one. All tracks are recommended but my preferences go to "Lost in A Memory" and "On the blink". Very very recommended ! Certainly one of the best albums of the eighties when classic music from the 70's was not well represented. (reviewed by francklassal on rateyourmusic)

Mega rare and superb melodic "Stonefield Tramp" related Psych Folk Songwriter album.

The ‘Follow the Sun’ album by R. Van Spyk & Friends was released as a limited vinyl edition of 200 copies in 1974 and was the precursor to the formation of Stonefield Tramp and the release of the album ‘Dreaming Again’ in the same year.
