Schlachtvieh - Ein Rock-Oratorium gegen den Krieg (Rare 1980 German Experimental Psych Cosmic Heavy Krautrock LP on Kanon)

Very nice Experimental German LP with psych, cosmic, prog touches !

Absolutely stunning and rare German Progressive Krautrock album. It has it all, great male/female vocals, great Hammond organ and amazing fuzz guitars, flute, fantastic psychedelic effects and spooky vocal narrations on two tracks! It sounds like it was recorded in the early 70’s.
(review by an ebay seller)
Two excellent Heavy Kraut tracks : A4. Kreuzzug and B4. Friedenslied.

Listen : Schlachtvieh - Ein Rock-Oratorium gegen den Krieg - 1980 (The whole album)

Tracklist :

 00.00. Einleitung (Kinderstimmen)
 06.14. Zwei Männer (Wolfgang Borchert)
 07.12. Josua (Altes Testament)
 10.42. Kreuzzug (Novalis)
 17.13. Menschenjagd (Ernst von Salomon)
21.49. Warum sind wir die Weinenden? (David Luschnat)
 26.47. Zwei Männer (Wolfgang Borchert)
 28.25. Elegie (Krystof Baczynski)
 34.07. Friedenslied (Raimon)

Complete with the original inner sleeve !

A bizarre album in the tradition of earlier underground left-field "Polit Rock" Krautrock acts like Floh De Cologne, Lokomotive Kreuzberg, Oktober or Checkpoint Charlie, but given a whole new twist with lots of avant-garde percussives, electronics and mutilated guitars. A surreal piece of theatre with aptly surreal music, and menacing/startling texts delivered by a variety of voices: male, female, spoken, acted, sung and all delivered with a great deal of imagination and originality.

Shalom Riot - Wie mit Rauschen das Meer (Rare and great 1984 German Heavy Xian Krautrock LP on Daviton)

One of the best (if not THE best!!) German XIAN Prog Rock LP !!!
Excellent early 70s style progressive krautrock with fantastic hammond organ, superb fuzz guitar and strong male and female vocals. The LP is a rarity from 1984, but it has the atmosphere and lots of elements of Green Brain, Pilz or Ohr releases of that wonderful time.
Strongly RECOMMENDED, even for early 70s secular progressive rock collectors !!!

Listen : A2. Erste Liebe & B1. Wie mit Rauschen das Meer & B4. Traume & A1. Singt Einen Lobgesang

Turley Richards - From Darkness to Light (Rare 1972 US Private Psych Folk LP)

Turley Richards (born Richard Turley June 12, 1941 in Charleston, West Virginia) is an American singer and guitarist.
Richards was blinded in the left eye at the age of four in an archery accident, and lost sight in the right eye as well some years later. He first began playing in a group called The Five Pearls while still a teen in the 1950s. His first appearance on record was a single titled "All About Ann", released on Cincinnati, Ohio label Fraternity Records.
He moved to Los Angeles with an ensemble in the early 1960s, but his band failed and he returned to West Virginia. Later in the 1960s he moved to New York. He played the uptown East Side local Bar's (Malachy's II) (72nd & Lexington) and eventually found success in New York. He released his debut album on Warner Bros. Records in 1970. He scored two minor hit singles in the US in the early 1970s.
Turley Richards' "From Darkness To Light - Solo Concert" is the most complex and illustrative album of his incredible talents.

Tony Ray - 4db Hot (Excellent 1975 Canadian Guitar oriented Psych Rock on Polaris)

Rare and great 1975 Canadian Psychedelic Rock LP with sharp electric guitar leads !
Released on the little Polaris label (Windsor, Ontario).

Semi-hard rock LP, not overly heavy, actually bordering on FM southern or rural rock often. The lead guitar is the highlight in a lot of places. Highlights by far are the track "I want to talk to you" and the Marshall Tuckeresque "I want you, You Want Me". (reviewed by oldmanwithaponytai on rateyourmusic).

Listen : A4. I Wanna Talk to You  &  B4. I'll Ride For Free

The whole LP is available on YouTube right now !
