John Thomas Makin is an English born folk and blues singer and guitarist (13 February 1950, Warrington - 23 October 2011, Brussels).
In 1972 he moved to Brussels where he very quickly got involved in the expat music scene playing folk/blues, and his first original songs were recorded on the album "Urban Romance" in 1976.

Really enjoying this seemingly under-appreciated album. It's ambitious and incredibly well produced for a private pressing, has a nice big sound that absolutely works.
This is primarily a solo effort, with Wilson aided and abetted by a cohort of musician friends.
The music tends to be somewhat soft basically, with varying elements of folk, rural and country present to one degree or another. The song writing is interesting as is the presentation.

Another great album released in 1979 by this talented and prolific singer-songwriter !
This album is a collection of acoustic songs. It's just Guthrie and a guitar and a set of well-crafted songs. There's some good fingerpicking on these tracks, but it's not the focus. He's got an earth baritone voice that is expressive and appealing and imbued with confidence and urgency.
