CHARLES BROWNING - "A Choirboy's Lament" (Excellent 1976 US Private Folk Rock LP)
Here is an interesting excavated-from-the-tombs 70's folk record.
Charles Browning appears to be a D.C. area guitar picker/singer/songwriter.
On the back cover photo he looks pretty paranoid n' crazy.
He mainly does originals with only 2 really cool covers (Richard Farina's "Dopico" and Buffy Saint-Marie's "Cod'ine").
The music contained is mellow folk with instrumentation that pushes into the psych realm (nice use of tablas, congas, cymbals, even tubular bells).
Oh yeah, Emmylou Harris is on back-up harmony vocals for a few trax as well.
