BRIAN BYRNE - Sweet Carnloch Bay (1982 reissue of the 1973 Irish Folk masterpiece)

The 1973 Hawk edition was a poor quality pressing.
The track listing on the cover did not match the vinyl.

The 1982 budget reissue on Harp (HPE 652) features a new title 'Sweet Carnloch Bay' and new cover artwork which misspells Brian's name as 'Bryan Byrne' . This is rectified on the label.

Here the track listing on the cover match the vinyl but they removed the track B1 (The Lark in the Morning) on this reissue.
Well it was the weakest track on the Hawk issue.

Tracklist :

Side One
A1 Carnloch Bay
A2 The Town is not Their Own
A3 Next Market Day
A4 Lakes of Coolfin
A5 John Barleycorn
A6 Coulter's Candy

Side Two
B1 The Wind that Shakes the Barley
B2 Magherafelt May Fair
B3 Droop All the Flowers
B4 Handsome Sally
B5 The Parting Glass

BRIAN BYRNE - Brian Byrne (1973 Irish Folk masterpiece on the Hawk label)

Brian Byrne's solo LP was recorded in November 1972 and issued on Hawk Records (HALP 105) in 1973 (the labels carry a 1976 date but I think it's a typo).
It's a perfect album from beginning to the end. A truly masteriece !

ROB PEARSALL & FRIENDS - Abiding in Him (Great 1977 US Private Xian Folk LP)

Rob Pearsall and his fellow Californians deliver a pleasant simply-arranged friendly homemade blend of light, medium and heavy sounds, all more or less within that general category of west-coast melodic rural piano-and-guitar folkrock.
Maybe a bit like Parable in that respect.
The group’s quieter side focuses on piano ballads and solo acoustic songs, while diversions like the country rocking ‘Free In Jesus’ proudly plug in the guitar for a more aggressive edge.
Attractive cover illustration of woodland brook setting seems befitting of the mood.
