WAYNE SANMANN - "On the Other Side of the Mountain" (1979 US Xian Outsider-DIY LP)

Way obscure Private Press LP by this local Oklahoma artist, which looks like typical rural Xian-Country album from the cover ... until you crack it open and experience the Outsider-DIY genius of "Faith: The Better Way," one of the best undiscovered Xian Folk-Rock-Psych tracks I've heard ... the song opens with the thumping beat ripped straight off Nancy Sinatra's "These Boots Are Made For Walking" then some spidery late 1960's Psych harpsichord/organ comes creeping in along with Sanmann's high-pitched, unearthly Mountain Guru vocals ... Totally irresistible, completely out of this world and flat-out amazing.
Sanmann must have been a big fan of Lee Hazlewood because there are several other excellent cuts on here with a similar laidback, trippy "Some Velvet Morning" groove.
A really unique record that grows and grows on you ...
Who was this guy??
